An extra special shout-out this month goes to our friends and compadres at August Schell Brewery in scenic New Ulm, MN. This incredible brewery was founded in 1860 by August Schell, who had emigrated from Germany to explore the New World. Like so many of us, August lamented the lack of good beer close to hand and decided he would brew it himself from clear artesian water in the North Woods. 153 years later they’re still brewing up there and serving Doug’s Nuts to hardy Minnesotans and tourists alike. Check out their website for great historical details and views of their gorgeously landscaped grounds. It’s a year round Schellabration!
