Let’s talk about almonds!

Seeing as how Doug has proclaimed July to be NUTrition Month, let’s talk about almonds, or a-monds as they call them in California. These little gems are overall the best, healthiest and most nutritious nuts you can can wrap your lips around. They’re a good source of Vitamin E (which boosts our immune systems and lowers our risk of Alzheimer’s) and fiber, and are high in potassium and protein.They have more calcium and magnesium than any other nuts. A recent study published in Circulation magazine showed that people with high blood pressure who ate a handful of almonds a day lowered their bad LDL cholesterol by 4.4%. Those who ate TWO handfuls lowered bad LDL by a whopping 9.4%. Wow. No wonder Doug is such a healthy specimen of American manhood!
